Remembering Our Loved Ones . . . 55 Years Ago This Day

February 12, 2018 marks the 55th anniversary of the loss of Flight 705. That day our lives were forever changed. Today we remember family members, friends, and the crew of Flight 705 with love and gratitude for the time we had with them. Here’s to our collective memories that still capture the essence of who these individuals were and what they meant to us. It is my hope that in the coming years a permanent memorial may be erected to them at Everglades National Park.

This will always be a day to remember two people who played such an important role in my life. Our love and thoughts for all who lost loved ones that day. Thankful for the time we did have with them prior to this day 55 years ago.

Dear Greg – I had just turned 16 and lost my Mom, Sally Smigiel on Northwest 705..my father was very afraid of flying so he insisted that they fly separate planes – I thank God for his decision, as I would have lost both parents that day had my Dad not flown separately….I miss my beautiful Mom every day……janice
